Farm Fresh
Farm Fresh is a collection of clothing and accessories that’s made for the girl on the go who wants to have easily wearable statement garments that have classic shapes along with fun and playful elements. This is a line of garments inspired by agriculture, keeping it classic for the modern woman with abstract floral prints, as well as adding a touch of sweetness with farm animal prints. All items in the collection utilize either straight repeats, halfdrop repeats, or engineered prints to have a variety of visual textures and layouts for eyes to follow.
This was a summer intensive course taken at the Rhode Island School of Design.
Skills Necessary:
Illustration, product mapping onto garments, repeat pattern making and different techniques (ex: half-drop), Adobe Photoshop, digital textile design
Outsourcing my design to get physical printed samples, pitching a collection, audience research (what is popular in the market)
Considerations for the Project:
·Create a cohesive line of digital textile designs based around a theme
·Make sure there is something for everyone, a bold wearable floral, or a cute accessory with farm animals on it
·Ensure that these prints make sense for my target market, comparable to someone who would shop at Urban Outfitters
·Make the digital mapping as believable as possible to give an idea of what the final product would look like if actually put into production
