ModCarrier - Client Sponsored Project
ModCarrier is a cat carrier and bed for a 2 in 1 space saving option. By having the carrier also be a bed, the cat will naturally be more comfortable with this object since there is a visual familiarity and recognizable scent with sleeping in it, causing less negative association and anxiety when going to the vet or other destinations. It is also convenient as it is airport regulation size, making it easy to use in all travel situations while staying cozy for the cat.
This was a sponsored project from the brand “ModKat”. They currently create space saving litter boxes for people who live in the city in small apartments, and they were looking for a product to expand their brand.
Skills Necessary:
Laser cutting, 3D printing, SolidWorks, rapid model making, refined model making, sketching
Working directly with a client, research, presentations to convey ideas
Considerations for the Project:
·Important that this object would have multiple functions and not cause clutter for people living in small apartments who already don’t have a lot of space as is
·Needs to follow the “ModKat” current brand identity and form language
·Has to be convenient for travel, whether going on a plane or a subway
·Ensure the cat is comfortable - cats often don’t feel stable in a soft shell carrier
